A Clear Difference: How PassivGlas™ Stole the Show at Housing 2025

The PassivGlas team chat with a Housing 2025 attendee

There’s only so much a brochure can tell you about energy efficiency. To really understand PassivGlas™, you have to see it and feel it. That’s why at Housing 2025, we invited visitors to experience our glazing technology first-hand, and it didn’t take long for people to see, hear, and feel the difference.

Experiencing Innovation First-Hand

We brought both our heat and sound booths to the event, giving attendees a chance to test PassivGlas™ for themselves. The sound booth drew curious crowds all day. With loud music playing inside, with the door closed, the noise vanished. That powerful hush demonstrated what UKAS-tested sound reduction up to Rw 41dB really feels like.

Next to it, our heat booth offered a more tactile experience. Inside are four panes of glass; single glazing, 10 year old double glazing, modern A-rated double glazing, and PassivGlas™ vacuum glazing. These are all exposed to an internal temperature of around 60°C. Visitors quickly discovered that while the single pane felt almost hot to the touch and the double glazed units noticeably warm, the PassivGlas™ panel stayed cool, only a couple of degrees above the room’s ambient temperature.

A simple but powerful demonstration of how our glazing achieves U-values as low as 0.44 W/m²K, delivering comfort and energy efficiency all year round.

Talking About the Future of Housing

Our Managing Director, Ian Henderson, also took to the stage to share how PassivGlas™ is helping shape a more sustainable future for UK housing. He spoke about closing the performance gap, supporting retrofits, and making low-carbon living more accessible through innovation and affordability.

Following the talk, our team was joined by landlords, social housing providers, architects, and housing professionals, all eager to discuss how PassivGlas™ could help them meet their goals.
